Perks of Active Membership

Email Lists
Anyone may subscribe to our Announcements List to receive event updates.
However, only active members may join the Babble List — a members-only discussion list for social conversation and sharing items of interest.

Prizes and Giveaways:

Eligibility for prizes, including cash (PayPal), Amazon gift cards, door prizes, or auction credits, is limited to active members.

Chat Room Etiquette

Our golden rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Kindness and respect build community.

Remember, members of all ages may be present during events — please keep language and behavior appropriate at all times.

Room Announcements and Sound Settings

The TeamTalk client announces many events by default (such as users joining or leaving).
To maintain a pleasant listening environment, members using external speakers must disable these announcements.

1. Press F4 to open Preferences.
2. Press Ctrl+Tab until you reach the Text-to-Speech tab.
3. Tab to the list of events and uncheck the following:

User logged in/out
User joined/left channel
User joined/left current channel
4. Tab to OK and press Enter to save.

If you still wish to track channel activity, tab to the Read-Only Edit Field in the main window to review recent messages and status changes.

Silencing VoiceOver on iPhone (Recommended)

To minimize VoiceOver speech during transmissions:

1. Go to Preferences.
2. Check Use iPhone speaker instead of earpiece.

Members who consistently disrupt channels with unmuted announcements or tones may be muted or restricted at management’s discretion.
This policy does not apply to headset users whose devices do not broadcast audio into the channel.
